Gall Bladder Disease Symptoms

Gall bladder disease is a condition that mostly affects women, people that have passed 50 or persons which suffer of other medical conditions such as diabetes. The causes for gall bladder disease are inappropriate diets and obesity. Overweight persons are also affected and so are those with high blood cholesterol levels. Eating foods that are rich in fat also contribute to the development of gall bladder disease and many person develop this condition because the inappropriate diet.

Gall bladder is a condition that usually consists of the occurrence of the gallstones. These are solid structures that are formed from cholesterol, calcium and bile salts and might lead to cholecystitis, choledocholithiasis, cholangitis or pancreatitis.

Doctors characterize this disease as being of two stages: chronic and acute. We should know that in the chronic form, the symptoms are milder and have recidivating character. In the acute form the symptoms are very intense and might lead in some cases to complications.

There are some general symptoms that are experienced by most of the gall bladder disease patients. Among them we should remember abdominal pain, indigestion, vomiting, nausea, bloating of the abdomen, discomfort and pain when eating fatty foods. The mentioned symptoms are common among the chronic gall bladder disease patients. In some cases, patients might not develop anything but gall bladder pain. That is why this symptom is believed to be characteristic for this condition. Pain usually occurs after meals. This main symptom of gall bladder disease usually intensifies at night and after physical effort.

Not so frequently seen symptoms are a persistent taste in the mouth, bad breath, headaches, constipation or discolored tools.

For the acute form of the gall bladder disease symptoms are usually come with fever, sweating or severe pain attacks. Pain attacks are severe in acute cholecystitis and may last for a few hours when they occur. These symptoms usually occur at night and after meals. The pain comes in the abdominal region, the mid back region or under the right shoulder. When fever occurs you should get alarmed because fever is the signal for the aggravation of the disease. Other symptoms that might indicate complications of the gall bladder disease consist of yellowish aspect of the skin and eyes, chills, sweating and ongoing
